Step 3. Set MoCap Zone

The final step of setup is to define the mocap zone—the 3D space in which motion capture will be performed.
Center Panel
The mocap zone is displayed as a rectangular prism in the center of the screen. This represents the space MOVIN TRACIN will use to detect and record motion.
Right Panel
Use the following slider controls to adjust the boundaries of the mocap zone:
'Near' / 'Far' – adjust the front and back limits
'Left' / 'Right' – adjust the horizontal span
'Height' – adjust the vertical height of the zone
The mocap zone is measured relative to the center point, with the following limits:
Minimum size: 1m (width) × 1m (depth) × 2m (height)
Maximum size: 5m (width) × 4.5m (depth) × 3m (height)
For each axis:
Forward (toward MOVIN TRACIN): 0.5m to 2.0m
Sideways and backward: 0.5m to 2.5m
If point cloud data appears on the ground, it may be misinterpreted as a person, reducing mocap quality.
Click the '2. Level Device' button (top left) to ensure the ground plane is still aligned properly.
For detailed instructions, refer to the Step 2. Level Device page.
In the right panel, use the 'Near', 'Far', 'Left', 'Right', and 'Height' sliders to define the exact area where motion will be captured.
When finished, click the 'Save' button to apply your changes.
Once saved, the point cloud will only appear within the defined zone.
Objects inside the mocap zone will be highlighted in red and block you from proceeding to the next step.
Remove all objects from the zone and click 'Check' again.
If objects cannot be moved, reduce the zone size to exclude them.
Click the 'Next' button to proceed to the next phase.
Congratulations—your setup with MOVIN TRACIN and MOVIN Studio is now complete!
