Let's Get MOVIN: First Steps to Start

Before using MOVIN, there are several important guidelines you should know to ensure optimal performance. Please review the details below before getting started.

Tips Before You Begin:

Motion Capture Space

• The maximum size of the mocap zone is 5m (width) × 4.5m (depth) × 3m (height).

  • To accommodate this, you’ll need additional clearance space beyond the mocap zone:

    • At least 1 meter of extra space on each side (width),

    • 2 meters at the front and back (depth),

    • And 0.3 meters or more above (height).

    • These are minimum clearances, so we recommend securing an even larger space for smooth and uninterrupted capture.

  • The mocap zone must be completely clear of objects. If this isn’t possible, reduce the zone size in MOVIN Studio accordingly.

• If you're working in environments with unsuitable flooring, such as:

  • Uneven textures (e.g. carpets),

  • Highly reflective materials (e.g. marble, glass),

  • Or soft floors that transmit vibration,

  we recommend using firmly secured floor mats to improve stability and tracking performance.

• Remove any mirrors, Scotch tape, or other reflective surfaces within the mocap zone.

• Also, ensure that the space includes at least one available power outlet.

  • MOVIN TRACIN requires continuous power supply.

  • If you're planning longer sessions, make sure your computer has its own dedicated outlet as well.

Motion Capture Performer

• Avoid wearing reflective clothing or footwear.

• Please wear fitted clothing and tie up long hair to prevent interference.

  • Loose or dynamic elements like oversized outfits, lace or flowing fabrics, dangling jewelry, or free-moving hair may negatively affect motion capture performance.

Motion Capture Computer

For optimal performance, ensure your computer meets the following specifications:

• Operating System: Windows 10–11 (64-bit)

• Processor: 3.0+ GHz i7 CPU

• Memory: 16 GB or higher

• Network: Dedicated 1 Gigabit Ethernet port

  • this port must be separate from your local network port.

Additional Notes

• MOVIN Tracin’s maximum power consumption is 60W (12V DC).

To get started, you’ll need to set up and connect both the MOVIN TRACIN hardware and the MOVIN Studio software.
