Let's Get MOVIN: First Steps to Start
Before using MOVIN, there are some important considerations to keep in mind.
Please review the information below for a smooth start.
Tips Before You Begin:
Motion Capture Space
MOVIN’s motion capture zone (MoCap zone) supports a maximum size of 3m (width) x 3m (depth) x 3m (height).
To achieve the full MoCap zone, ensure a minimum space of 4m (width) x 5.5m (depth) x 2.2m (height). Ideally, a space of 5m (width) x 6.5m (depth) x 2.5m (height) or larger is recommended.
If ensuring the minimum space isn’t possible, you can reduce the MoCap zone size during the MOVIN Studio setup process, so don't worry.
Avoid soft flooring materials that might transmit vibrations to the device. Use hard flooring or secure mats instead.
If using mats, ensure they’re firmly fixed to the ground.
Remove any mirrors, Scotch tape, or highly reflective surfaces like glass or marble from the space.
Ensure the space has at least one available power outlet for the MOVIN Tracin device, which requires a continuous power supply.
Also, consider additional outlets for your computer.
Motion Capture Subject
Avoid wearing reflective clothing or shoes.
Please wear fitted clothing and tie up long hair to prevent interference.
e.g. oversized garments, loose fabrics like lace, dangling jewelry, flowing hair, etc.
Computer Requirements
For optimal performance, ensure your computer meets the following specifications:
Operating System: Windows 10–11 (64-bit)
Processor: 3.0+ GHz i7 CPU
Memory: 16 GB or higher
Network: 1 Gigabit Ethernet port
exclusively dedicated for MOVIN, separate from the local network port
Additional Notes
MOVIN Tracin’s maximum power consumption is 60W (12V, 5A).
To get started with MOVIN, you'll need to install and integrate the Tracin hardware and Studio software.
