Studio to Anywhere: MOVIN Studio Usage Guide
MOVIN Studio allows you to capture full-body motion data and stream it to various external platforms in real time. Let’s take a look at its core features:
Motion Capture & Export: You can capture a person’s physical movements as high-fidelity motion capture data using MOVIN TRACIN.
Real-Time Streaming: MOVIN Studio supports real-time streaming, allowing you to send live motion data to third-party platforms.
You can also retarget the captured human motion data to your character.
Import Custom Characters: MOVIN Studio allows you to import your own 3D characters in formats such as .vrm or .fbx.
Retargeting: Retargeting makes the character move naturally and realistically in real time based on the performer’s movements.
You can obtain more detailed tracking of hand and finger motion by using 3rd-party gloves, adding expressive detail to your mocap results.
Third-Party Gloves: MOVIN Studio supports third-party gloves from manufacturers like Rokoko and Manus.
Things to Keep in Mind
Because MOVIN TRACIN uses a single front-facing sensor, certain positions—especially those involving occluded body parts—can be difficult to track. However, with some adjustments, you can still achieve high-quality results:
Use Continuous Motions
If a motion involves moving your hand behind your body, it’s helpful to perform it as one continuous motion from the front to the back. This allows MOVIN TRACIN to track the movement path even when the hand becomes partially occluded.
Adjust Your Body Orientation
When performing gestures that cause body parts—like hands—to become hidden from the device, turning your body slightly toward the device will help keep those movements within view. This small change can significantly improve tracking accuracy.
Use Gloves for Occluded Hands
If the occluded body part is the hand or wrist and accurate tracking is critical, we recommend using third-party gloves.
These allow you to maintain high-quality finger and hand motion capture even when the camera cannot see the hands directly.
Now that you have an overview, shall we dive into each feature in more detail?
