Stage 1 · Calibration

Calibration combines every LiDAR view into one 3D scene. Run it after the first installation, whenever a sensor moves, or when walls and floors look doubled or misaligned.

Before starting, clear the stage, power and connect every sensor, and have the calibration wand ready.

Connect sensors

Stage 1 screen before connecting sensors
1 Either highlighted Connect sensors button starts the same connection flow.

Select either highlighted Connect sensors button.

Stage 1 screen after sensors are connected
1 Either highlighted Calibrate sensors button opens the same calibration screen.

After the sensors connect, select either highlighted Calibrate sensors button. The center and lower-right buttons perform the same action.

Calibrate sensors screen
1 Select Calibrate to open the calibration wizard.

Select the highlighted Calibrate button to start calibration.

Calibration is locked while the pipeline is running. Stop the pipeline to edit it; output remains off until you go live again.

1 · Setup

Setup with sensor status and calibration wand selection highlighted
1 Check sensor status. 2 Choose the calibration wand.
  1. Confirm PTP sync, Connected, and Live data are green for every sensor. The Reference sensor is selected automatically.

  2. Choose Regular (15 cm ball) or Big (20 cm ball).

2 · First calibration

First calibration sensor collection progress highlighted
1 Check each sensor's collection progress.

Select Start collection, then move the wand slowly around the whole stage and vary its height from near the floor to overhead. Collection stops automatically when every non-reference sensor has enough data; check each sensor under Collection progress.

Completed collection progress and first calibration result review highlighted
1 Confirm that every sensor is ready. 2 Review each sensor's result.
  1. Confirm that every non-reference sensor is ready under Collection progress.

  2. Check Result review. A Pass is enough to continue; collect again if a sensor fails.

Select Confirm first calibration to keep the rough alignment and continue to Refine calibration. No separate Next click is required.

3 · Refine calibration

Refine calibration sensor progress and wand trajectories highlighted
1 Check each sensor's progress. 2 Cover the full working volume with wand trajectories.

Select Start capture, then:

  1. Move the wand side to side, front to back, and low to high. Check that each sensor's progress increases.

  2. Use the viewport to confirm that the wand trajectories cover the full working volume rather than one small area.

When every sensor reaches the target and Enough data — press Stop when ready appears, select Stop capture. Then select Refine calibration to fit the accepted trajectories. Stopping capture alone does not calculate the refined calibration.

Refine calibration complete
A completed refinement is ready for axis selection.

When Refinement shows Complete, select Next · Select axis. If more coverage is needed, select Capture more, collect the extra trajectories, select Stop capture, and then select Refine again. Reset all discards the trajectories and refinement result and restarts this step.

4 · Select axis

Set three points in order: Origin, Right, and Forward. Stand on the stage facing the audience; Right is your right, and Forward points toward the audience or stage front.

Select Axis origin instructions
The diagram shows where to place O, R, and F.

For each point, select Start capture, place the wand at the requested spot, step away, and confirm Placed — start capture. Hold the wand still until the candidate list appears.

Axis position candidates
The best candidate is preselected; verify it against the real wand position.

Choose the marker that matches the wand's real position, then continue to the next point. Repeat for Right and Forward, then select Next · World alignment.

5 · World alignment

World alignment in Top, Front, Side, and 3D views
Verify the shared frame and floor from all four views.

World solve starts automatically. When Auto align shows Complete, check the Top, Front, Side, and 3D views. Use Fast refine with a clear floor to correct small tilt or height errors, then confirm.

6 · Save

Save calibration with a timestamped filename
The saved result becomes the default for the next pipeline start.

Keep the suggested filename or enter a new one, then select Save. Discard & exit removes all unsaved work from this wizard session.

Continue to Stage 2 · Settings.
