# MOVIN TRACIN Setup

## MOVIN TRACIN Package

MOVIN TRACIN is securely packaged to prevent damage during shipping.

Before assembling the device, please verify that all components are included:

### Optional Accessories <a href="#optional-accessories" id="optional-accessories"></a>

Additional accessories may be required to ensure stable use of MOVIN TRACIN in certain environments. These need to be purchased separately if required.&#x20;

* **USB to Ethernet Adapter**
  * MOVIN TRACIN requires a direct wired connection between the device and the computer.
  * If your computer does not have enough Ethernet ports, please prepare a  [USB to Ethernet Adapter](https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/accessories-and-software/cables-and-adapters/cables-and-adapters_adapters/78810617) to maintain a direct connection.
* **Quick Mount System**&#x20;
  * To ensure secure attachment when installing MOVIN TRACIN on your tripod, a compatible mount system is recommended.&#x20;
  * Please check that your selected mount features the required <mark style="background-color:$primary;">**3/8-inch thread**</mark> specifications.
  * If you need to frequently attach and detach MOVIN TRACIN, a quick release system like the [iFootage Seastar Q1S](https://www.ifootagegear.com/products/seastars-q1s-quick-release?srsltid=AfmBOoqE2Sg97cH3lxAf9PeM_cH-3U3Mfunb9f389VN-4cZq7AQeRRye) is recommended.
* **Tripod**&#x20;
  * MOVIN TRACIN needs to be installed at a specific height without shaking to obtain optimal data quality.
  * Please ensure the tripod is compatible with <mark style="background-color:$primary;">**3/8-inch thread**</mark> specifications.
  * We recommend using tripods such as [SLIK PRO AL-323](https://slik.com/products/pro-al-323/) that can safely secure the MOVIN TRACIN.
* **Ethernet cable**
  * If MOVIN TRACIN is installed far from the computer, please prepare an additional long Ethernet cable.
  * The cable must support RJ45, 1Gbps (1000 base-T) or higher. For a stable connection, please use a CAT6 or higher Ethernet cable.

## How to Assemble MOVIN TRACIN

### Set Up the Tripod at a Height of 85 cm.

* Please install the tripod so that it is <mark style="background-color:$primary;">**85 cm above the ground**</mark>.
  * MOVIN TRACIN (MT-20) achieves the most stable motion capture quality when installed at a height of 85 cm from the ground.
* The installation height of MOVIN TRACIN has a significant impact on the quality of the motion capture data.

### Install mounts to MOVIN TRACIN and the tripod.

### Mount MOVIN TRACIN to the tripod.

* Attach MOVIN TRACIN to the tripod.
  * If you have a mount, secure the mount to both MOVIN TRACIN and the tripod, then attach them together.
  * Gently lift the device or check it by hand to ensure it is firmly secured to the tripod.
* Please check the flat surface by a <mark style="background-color:$primary;">**circular level indicator**</mark> on the top.
  * If the device is tilted, your motion capture data may become distorted.\
    Reposition the tripod on a stable, flat surface if necessary.

### Connect MOVIN TRACIN to your computer with the Ethernet cable.

* Use the <mark style="background-color:$primary;">**Ethernet cable**</mark> to connect MOVIN TRACIN <mark style="background-color:$primary;">**directly**</mark> to your computer
  * Avoid connecting through routers or network devices, as this may cause communication errors.
* If your computer does not have enough Ethernet ports, use a [<mark style="background-color:$primary;">**USB to Ethernet Adapter**</mark>](https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/accessories-and-software/cables-and-adapters/cables-and-adapters_adapters/78810617) to maintain a direct connection.

### Provide the power to MOVIN TRACIN.&#x20;

* Connect the power cable to the MOVIN TRACIN power port.
* Wait about 1 to 1.5 minutes until the front <mark style="background-color:$success;">**green indicator**</mark> stays steady.
  * If the indicator does not turn on or continues blinking, <mark style="background-color:$primary;">**unplug and replug the power cable.**</mark> This reset process usually resolves most power-related issues.

### Position MOVIN TRACIN facing a wide, open space.

* MOVIN TRACIN recognizes the motion capture area (Mocap Zone) starting from a distance of <mark style="background-color:$primary;">**1.2 meters**</mark> from where the device is installed. Position MOVIN TRACIN facing a wide, open space.
* The Mocap Zone is the area where MOVIN TRACIN detects and tracks human movement.
  * The Mocap Zone can be set from a minimum of 1m × 1m × 1.5m to a maximum of 5m × 5m × 3m.
